General Report ..................................................................................................................................................................... (6.)
Last night Anapa was hit by high-altitude bombers. Someone left a light on all night and seems like the enemy was able to accurately hit our runway. We had to shift operations temporarily to Anapa 2 just to the northeast.
I was woken up at midnight by one of the technical officers who explained that some front-line observers heard engines over the front lines. Presuming they were enemy aircraft I got a quick flight together and headed to intercept. It was a bright night so spotting was not too difficult. Despite this, once we reached the combat area we saw nothing. After patrolling for another 20 minutes we headed back.
I assume the observers either miss-identified contacts or they left the area long before we arrived.
