Got into a huge dogfight over Novoroskaya with 6-10 fighters. We had to break as a group dove on us from 3:00. We can survive the initial merge but we were swarmed by all types of fighters. It was difficult to defend against all the incoming attacks but we were able to manage. 3 and 2 got hit badly and had to RTB while 10 was running from 3 aircraft on his tail. I was able to break them off but now I was locked in a turn fight with a Yak on the deck. White 10 saved my ass by making the enemy have to break his turn.
He was quickly shot down afterward by another diving La-5. He saved me by taking the shots. Good man..
I then had to contend with 2 other fighters in a low-altitude dogfight. Lasted about 15 minutes and they disengaged after I headed for Anapa.
