Flight of 6, frontline patrol. very bad weather.
Engaged 4 hurricanes at south of peninsula, got 2 in 1 pass, both pilot kills. As we turned north, spotted 2 IL2's engaged and destroyed both. it seems they had a flight of P39s, at least 4 of them.
Did not see them diving through the clouds and I got hit by a lot of .50 cal and lost rudder control, and bad fuel and coolant leak. Managed to land successfully RTB, while the rest of the planes continued the fight.
Several friendlies got damaged, but 1 109 had a wing off. Pilot bailed successfully and was picked up by friendly AAA units.
