The first long mission for 6 Staffel in quite a while! Four of us went up to escort a flight of Ju-88s bombing on the mainland. We made it over the channel and chose not to engage a flight of two bombers, but then happened into a small contingent of enemy fighters. We mopped them up without taking any losses and I downed one LaGG. The flight then returned to the northwest, but stumbled back into those two bombers! They turned out to not only be A-20s but also rather flammable. They were dispatched without difficulty. All returned to base safe, besides one damaged bomber that managed to land.
