As we traveled to our patrol vector, Stab noticed a lone A-20. I directed Stab to take his wingman (white 3) and attack. White 3 downed the aircraft but took damage from his rear gunner. After this White 3 returned to base. Almost immediately afterwards Black 3 noticed three contacts to the west over the bay which turned out to be Il2's. I directed the flight to engage and Black 2 destroyed 2 and I destroyed one IL2. Black 2 was damaged in the engagement and ammo was low so we returned to base.
