Alex Pete MacDonald is a 40-year-old personal trainer who enjoys escapology, listening to the radio and travelling. He is loveable and smart, but can also be very unintelligent and a bit standoffish. Alex has five children with boyfriend Derek: Albert aged 1, Johnny aged 5, Harriet aged 7, Adrian aged 13 and Keith aged 17. Alex's best friend is a personal trainer called June Scott. They get on well most of the time. He also hangs around with a personal trainer called Cecil Morris. They enjoy football together.
