General Report ..................................................................................................................................................................... (6.)
escort mission a flight of fw190 to take out a tank battalion. Early intel aided in an attack from the north east of the bay. Unknown status of fw190 successes or failures. Upon initial sighting we bounced three yak9 who were attempting to intercept our bombers. Little did we know they were an escort flight for around eight additional yak9. Once we destroyed the escort flight we again bounced the major flight of yak9 as they were attempting to land. unfortunately we lost flight lead in the ensuing furball. I managed to destroy one yak9 before receiving damage to my right wing. I dove for home and had two enemies follow me all the way to the front. One broke at the line and gave me a perfect shot on the swing back; lit him up with 40 mg rounds and one or two 30mm hits. The remaining fighter reengaged and followed me all the way home where I was forced to utilize friendly AA to assist in a takedown. A flying accident ensued with element lead whose fate is still unknown. Two probable and two confirmed yak9 kills.
