4 plane intercept south of the channel. Flight proceeded south of the coast and came left into the channel entrance. Spotted a flight of 3 aircraft. Got closer and spotted another 4 planes on high cover. We climbed on a parallel course before engaging.
ID'd as 3x LA5FN + 4x Yak 9. We engaged and ended up taking out 5 of the 7, with 2 losses of our own: guest Pilot Richter and Yellow 7 Charon, however both pilots were recovered successfully after the engagement. I took a few hits to my right wing but the plane was okay.
Pilot note: this is the 2nd time we've engaged the new LA5FN's and I can confirm that they outmatch us in almost every regard. Several times in the engagement, the FN was able to out climb our out pace me on the deck. They are extremely fast and very dangerous.
RTB with a heavily damaged yellow 10, who did managed to land okay.
