Went up with Black 1 on a two plane patrol over the frontlines. Climbed to altitude and bounced on a four plane stack, but were *rather dismayed* when they turned out to be Spitfires. Hilarity ensued. Black 1 shot one down, but we were soon overwhelmed and had to flee west. One Spit stayed on Black 1's tail, I turned and got a shot off but they managed to shoot off his vertical stabilizer. He bailed and I ran for Anapa. I reached the airfield and did a flyover, but was unexpectedly set upon by an enemy. I lost my own tail over the water and had to bail. One hell of a first mission!
