SCRAMBLE! 6th staffle took off in glorious formation, and patrolled area around anapa. Spotted a flight of Il2 with 2 planes providing top cover.
top cover broke away so we dove on the IL2's. unfortunately we did not see the TOP top cover, which consisted of about 8 Yaks that proceeded to dive in and attack. some home we came out of the initial merge with minor damage and hit the deck at WEP to get back to anapa 2 for friendly AAA support.
Enemy planes (x 6?) continued to pursue to the airfield. 12 was the bait and dragged them over the air field, I guess they didnt watch their position, and the triple A lit them up like xmas. We proceeded to use boom and zoom and drag tactics over the airfield and we managed to stymie the attack completely, destroying 3 or 4 planes and AAA mopped up the rest or forced them to bug out.
After that engagment, we stayed in the area and spotted another flight of planes. We approached and ID'd as 2x IL2. We shot one down before we ran out of ammo and RTB.
