SCRAMBLE! 6th staffel and 5th staffle scrambled 8 planes in record time. After lining up on the runway, spotted a bazillion contacts incoming and proceeded with emergency takeoff procedure.
Once airborne, we spotted 4 different flights: 2 flights of 6 IL2's, a flight of hurricanes on top cover, and a flight of A20's.
Proceeded to engage. minimal friendly casualties but we inflicted heavy losses on all enemy flights. I claimed 1 IL2 myself, and my wingman yellow 2, Neon, got 2 IL2's confirmed.
Remaining enemy planes bugged out and we RTB with a successful defense of the airfield. No enemy planes made it to our airspace.
