Dusk Intercept flight to patrol coast for possible attack on friendly fuel dump. Yellow 10 and I flew south over the channel, spotted flight of 4 planes> ID'd as IL2s. Dove in to attack. One IL2 panicked, and spun himself and crashed, I took down 2, and yellow 10 got the last one. None of them made it to german lines.
On RTB, friendly spotlights lit up the air around our airfield and the coast while yellow 10 was on landing approach. I followed the lights, and spotted 1x P39. Dove in to engage and lost him in the lack of light against the dark ground. Tried to find him again, but he found me first and got good hits on. DOve to the deck and booked it back to our airfield with a damaged engine. managed to land successfully. No injuries. P39 then made a gun run on landed Yellow 10 but fortunately only took some minor hits. Enemy then patrolled off along the north coast taking friendly Aa as we lost visual.
