Escorted Ju 88 recon plane at dawn. Spotted two contacts; sent element to engage while 10 and I stuck with the 88. I believe they claim two fighters destroyed.
88 got photos over the target. During RTB, 10 and I were dropping below to draw AA fire. 2? P-40s attacked out of nowhere... 88 was damaged. I saw a 109 take hits from one, probably 10? I chased this plane, got hits, watched it roll over and dive into ground and burn. 3 and 8 showed up and chased the remaining plane; I saw it go in and burn near krymskaya(?) airfield.
While RTB, we intercepted a UFO over novoroskaya(sp?). Appeared to be an Me 410 or Ju 88, but stab flight ordered RTB before we could get a close look.
