Mission: escort 3x Fw190s on mission to attack submarine spotted off the coast North of Kertch airfield. Flight of 5 109's escorting. Good weather, clouds had cleared up after the morning storms.
On ingress, spotted flight of 5 north of the target area. Pushed ahead of the FW's to intercept. Id'd as mixed flight of Yaks and LA5FNs (!!!). We engaged making sure to maintain energy and keep speed up. I managed to down 2 yaks. The remaining fighters were dispatched by others in the flight, no casualties in this engagement.
Continued patrol and spotted 2 more planes heading to kertch airfield from the south. ID'd as P40 x2. Discordant shot one on fire, and I shot the other on fire, downing both of them
RTB successfully. No casualties.
