Flew mixed flight patrol with members of 4th and 5th Staffel. Weather was extremely poor with heavy wind and rain. We took off from Staro-Nijne-Steblievskaya
and headed south and formed up and were directed via ground radar towards 2 enemy flights encroaching towards our lines. We vectored toward the norther most flight and approached. Positive visual of 5 PE-2 and we engaged. I blew up one and heavily damaged another, and watched it crash.
We formed back up heading east to re-aquire the 2nd flight of the enemy but by this time they had left our ground radar zone and we were not able to find them again.
Headed back north to land at Staro-Nijne-Steblievskaya
