Ho-lee-crap, what a mission. Patrol mission just south of the kerch bay. Flight of 4 109s patroled N to S over the straight. On the return run to the north, spotted flight of 5 IL2's covered by 3 Yak fighters. We engaged the fighters first. I shot down 2 of them confirmed by Yellow3 and Yellow 10 shot down 1 confirmed by stab 4. We then proceeded to go for the IL2. I managed down 1 of them. stab 4 was hit in the engine by an IL2 gunner and caught fire, but he was able to bail over our troops.
Yellow 3 called out enemy fighters over kerch so we headed back to the north to assist. Spotted Yellow3 in a furball with 4 enemy planes. We split them up and shot down a couple, 1 spun himself and 1 went down from AA. Back over kerch yellow 10 called he was engaged with 2 planes. Ended up being a Yak and a P40. Y10 got the Yak and I got the p40.
