The mission started like all. The flight climbed in formation until 2000 meters when we spotted a flight of IL-2's being escorted by a flight of Yaks. Breaking off with yellow 7, we dove in from the left hand side respective to their direction of flight. After several passes I managed to significantly damage an IL-2. I myself received a few rounds from the tail gunner in my right wing and my weapons had malfuctioned. The remaining IL-2s were able to bomb a train carriage but the train was left in tact.
